    Peace Dove

The Peace Dove was my final commission of 2018. When I cook my special ingredient is love. When I created this I infused good thoughts of peace, love, acceptance, and kindness. May 2019 be filled with peace, love, acceptance, and kindness. #Peace #PeaceDove #Stainedglassmosaic #Glassonglass #mosaic #mosaicPittsburgh #stainedglassmosaicPittsburgh

    Bee Kind

I'd like to share the story about why I created Bee Kind. Lately, I have been frustrated by how people treat each other. I understand having different views and opinions, but why do we have to be so unkind in our dealings with each other? When I was raising my children and we would argue my step father would tell us, "be kind to each other". He didn't tell us we had to agree, he just told us to be kind as we discuss or debate. I asked my friend Alyssa if I could make a "Bee K

Fate or Coincidence? My Past Reached Out to Touch My Present.

While visiting my husband Larry's daughter, Gabrielle, in Colorado Springs, we fell in love with the beauty of the area. We took photos with the intention of making a stained glass mosaic. These were taken from the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. While working at our booth, Jenn's Jems, located inside the now closed Pittsburgh Public Market, Larry and I met Bruce and Ruth, a couple from Colorado. They liked our work and we discussed creating a mosaic for a door in their ho

Larry Bird Takes Flight, a Reflection

Larry Jacknin passed away from complications due to ALS on February 23, 2016 Larry created this pastel while we were on the beach. I love the way the bird looks like it is deep in thought, reflecting a lovely day spent at looking out at the ocean. I told him that if he were a bird, he would be that bird and that is how he got the nickname "Larry Bird." People have said to me that they were sorry that Larry suffered for the last few years of his life. And while ALS was unfort

    Becoming Artists

When Larry was young, a friend asked him, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "An artist," Larry responded. The well meaning friend told Larry that a man needs to be able to support a family and that is hard to do as an artist. Larry took these words to heart and went to school for engineering and in his 50's he went back for his MBA. Debbie loved art too but lacked confidence in her artst ability to persue a career using her talent. Her father suggested Management an
